Luz is from the Philippines and has been living in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam for over 14 years as a helper. She loves animals —especially cats. As there are so many cats that need homes in Vietnam, Luz has been using her own room as a shelter for over 30 cats. Yes…that was not a typo, she takes care of 30 cats! Luz feeds these cats using the money she earns each day. Just to give you an idea of how much she makes it’s around USD an hour. The other day I felt heart broken as she did not have the funds for a taxi to give 5 cats to a shelter that was 1 hour from where she lives. At the moment, Luz is living paycheck to paycheck as she does not have extra funds to feed all the cats she takes care of. And, today she showed me bite marks on her hand from one of the cats living in her house. The situation is hard because some of the cats are mating and having babies. Luz is a beautiful person, and I want her to have money to take care of these cats. The donations will go directly to Luz, and she will be able to use them to buy food for the cats, and also be able to have extra funds to take cats to the shelter.
