Dear community!

Our only, very small studio flat for basic living needs in Croatia where we are a national minority has been stolen. My mother is retired, 71 years old, and I have health issues which prevent me from working full time, while part time jobs are mostly not available in this country. I am 37 and in several years I will most likely have to be on a disability pension. We do not have other family members or relatives.

There are very few apartments for rent in a small town we live in, and the ones available are expensive, even more in the nearby city of Zagreb. The vast majority of people in this small country traditionally own the place they live in and household incomes are low.

In order to survive, be safe and have our most basic needs met, we either have to try to get our flat back by suing one corporation, or buy another flat - or at least a small camping house that we would be allowed to place somewhere long-term. On May 12th we become homeless.
